I wrote this as a way to summarize the heart of the points in Jesus' most famous speech, The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). Please feel free to use this in your services, small groups, or individual prayer time:

Let our good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise you, our heavenly Father! Let us be the salt of the earth and the light of the world by obeying, fulfilling, and teaching your ways!

When we are angry, help us reconcile with our offenders.

When we desire vengeance, help us to love our enemies.

When we are tempted to judge others, help us first examine our own hearts.

When we are blinded by lust, help us see true love and beauty in you and the ones you have called us to love.

When we make promises, help us to fulfill them.

When we give, help us be generous with pure motives.

When we pray or fast, help us care more about our connection with you instead of sounding and looking spiritual.

When we forgive, help us first remember the endless forgiveness you have given to us.

When tomorrow feels overwhelming, help us see how much you have provided for us today.

When we are worried and running low on faith, help us trust you and seek your Kingdom first.

When we are ready to give up or give in, help us to keep coming to you in prayer.

When we steer toward the broad roads that lead to destruction, help us navigate the narrow paths that lead to life.

Let us do for others whatever we would like them to do for us because this is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
